"The human heart is a strange vessel. Love and hatred can exist side by side."
- Scott WesterfeldProbably the last post before I leave for Taiwan @ Hong Kong, which also means the last post of 2009. :D Burnt my little finger in the afternoon (popped the blister after that, so it hurts like mad when I press on that spot now, heee) so I'm typing the
Felicia style now. :D (One finger and one letter at a time hahahah.) Speaking of which, blackblack, you should be back from Japan by now, right? :D Missed you!
Okay, time for a little reflection on 2009. :D (Although it's a little early, but doesn't matter.) :D 2009 has been, on the whole, a pretty awesome year. I gained new friendships, lost some, maintained quite a few and rebuilt some. I had my fair share of setbacks this year too, and through all that, I feel that I've become more matured. :D 2009 has been a rather eventful year. I'm grateful for everyone who has helped and been there for me and blah. :D Almost like a drama serial, friends came and went, some stayed, some left. It was a pretty good year despite of many stuff actually, it's like I'm contradicting myself now. There were definitely a lot of problems, some resolved, some left unsolved, some i have no idea what happened to. :D
A few highlights this year would definitely be settling in a totally new class after having spent two years in 2L. I still remembered how awkward the first day was for both me and blackblack, we were totally sitting side by side, desperately trying to open up more to each other by thinking of random stuff to say. :D Hahah. But I don't think it'll be the same during the first day of school next year eh. :D Haven't went crazy with you for ages already lahhh. And then we met Xinni, Sue-Ann, Taylin, Jean, Mag, who turned out really nice and crazy to be with also. :D Amazing how one year of nonsense and fun ended so very quickly, definitely looking forward to another year with 3L. :D Heee.
Being selected as Volleyball CCA Leader this year didn't turn out as satisfying as I thought it would have been. It made me look back and think, and then realize how childish I was a year ago to have made such a big fuss of things a year ago. If we could turn time back, I promise you, Joycee, I wouldn't have reacted the way I did in the past, promisee. Hahah. Still, I may not be the best CCA leader nor captain, but I'm trying my best, definitely, and I'm hoping it's enough to see that we at least get something for coach and for us next year. :D I've definitely gotten closer to most of the team mates this year too, and I'm glad we managed to get along fine with the year 2s in B div, when we hardly even talked to them last year. It's nice seeing the team improving gradually every training too, loveee b div '10. :D
Studies have proven to be pretty okay this year, although I know I could have done better. :D Next year is only gonna get tougher and tougher, but as I know that as long as I focus, things will turn out okay. :D
This is a little early too, but,
HAPPY SWEET 15 JOYCE AND GEN! :DYou two have been really awesome people to be around with this whole year. :D I'm sorry I can't and won't be there to spend the most important day of the year (hahahah as quoted by Gen) with you both, but I know that you two will have fun, right. :D Enjoy yourselves, and have a great year ahead! :D
Merry Christmas in advance too! :DOkay lastly, overseas from the 23rd - 31st. :DAm gonna miss the team (I'm sorry I won't be @ trainings with you all this week & the week after), blackblackk (Urgh I'm leaving once you get backkk), sotong, Poopy (You'd probably be too preoccupied w/ him to even think abt me, but yeah I'll miss you heh. Have fun.)
:D

"Nothing that’s worthwhile is ever easy. Remember that."
Nicholas Sparks (via kari-shma)This few days have been awesome. :D I'm glad I'm enjoying the last of my holidays, since it'll be a whole new year by the time I get back from Taiwan. Oh, and I have totally given up on homework. :D Hahahah have done all except the Math last year paper (and Lang Arts, but I can't find it on Rvle), so technically speaking, I've only given up on doing Math for now. :D (May continue with it after I get back though. Imma good girl.) :D
Trainings this week have been pretty fruitful, I'm glad I see myself improving in both spiking & service (float float float more please!) Okay, shall not go on about training. (For once!) Hahahah my sis says she closes my blog tab once she reads my post until the training part, grrr. Heee.
Barbecue on Friday! :D Was quite a last minute kindda thing, but I'm glad it turned out fun. :D Celebrated Gen's and Joyce's birthday then, I hope you two liked the surprise! Hahahah it was totally stupid though, I don't think I'm ever ever ever gonna invite Tingzhen to any event which involves cake/cream. Heee, I totally got spammed by him and Choon Hian (thanks ah, hahahah) after we sang the song and everything. But apart from that, it was awesomee. :D Played Volleyball at the around the barbecue pits while the guys were desperately trying to start the fire. (Cos it rained for a little while in the middle, hee.) Helped cook a bit after that, somehow I became the drinks girl cause I sat really near to where all the drinks were. Hahahah, nonsense people. :D Oh, played table-tennis too! (Heee fun fun fun, we should totally do this again) :D
Out with Gen today! :D (To get Joyce's present.) Walked around the whole of Jurong Point at least thrice trying to find a suitable present for her, I hope you like it okay! :D Hahahah met Joyce after that before she left for work (Wah I make her sound so old like that, hahahah) I still cannot get used to seeing her with her work attire. :D Hahah. Love them both! :D

The things that we share.
I see this blog getting more and more empty every time I bother visiting it. Hahah, not surprising. :D I think holidays totally killed all the blogging bug I had in me, I have so much to update but I have no idea where to start, what to say, blah. Hahah. Beijing Gpp was definitely an experience. I've learned a lot during the trip, made new friends, and got closer with some existing ones. :D It was just like a roller coaster ride, really. :D I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad everything seems today, life still goes on, and everything will turn out fine the next day if you just trust. (Hahah Joyce, we'll keep that within ourselves, alright.) :D I've learned that one can tell a lot about a person by how they handle things. I've learned that no matter what your relationship with your parents is, you'll still miss them when you don't get to see them in your life. I've learned that life sometimes gives us a second chance, and it's up to us to make full use of it. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn in life, but I'm learning and improving daily. I'm glad those ten days turned out really meaningful, I'm glad Joyce asked me to go along with her on this trip a few months ago, I'm glad all's well now. :D I've learned a lot from those four days in school, although those two days of lecture had proven to be extremely draining, mentally. :D Immersions with Beijing's 27th Middle School was pretty cool also, though I wished we were given an opportunity to sit through classes other than their Chinese lessons. (Like English maybe, why not.) :D Hahah. Their class contact time was really really cool, it's more of like the class chair persons taking charge of the whole situation, with the teacher at the side taking photos. :D And like everybody's supposed to participate in one way or another. (You see, they are allowed to act in short skits during their class contact time, so like 3/4 of the class will get a chance to act then, then the other 1/4 will have to participate during class discussions after the skit.) And the two twins in the class I was in were really cute max! :D Hahahah. Visits to tourists attractions in China was pretty fun also, it was interesting actually getting to be at places like the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace after only getting to hear about them for a long long time. :D The Great Wall owns though, I never ever ever want to go back there again if I had a choice. :D It was tiring to the maxx, even 100 suicides was better that that, I swear. Hahahah. Climbing up the Great Wall was one of the toughest things ever, since we went like a really really long way (Qihao's idea! Hahahah in the end everyone climbed until super super tired), and climbing down those steep slopes wasn't easy also lor. (The guys actually tried sliding down, epic fail hahahah.) :D But yeah, despite all that, it was fun tooo. :D Made new friends during the trip also, they never fail to make me laugh lahh, seriously! :D (I mean, with Xinyi and Junjie around, anything's possible what right.) And Huiying's really nice to be with when you're shopping. (Eh she's damn good at bargaining okay, seriously!) Hahahah. Shopping with the guys was definitely a first for me also. :D Nights at the hotel was the best. :D I (Inserts big big heart) heart-to-heart talks with Joyce, playing poker with her, singing to tunes we're familiar with when it shows on the television, running round the room screaming like mad, munching on chips and cup noodles late at night, and just being there for each other throughout the whole trip. :D Hahaha and yeah, she practically saw every side of me during the trip lah. Crazy, happy, normal, disappointed, sad, blah. But I'm glad you were there with me, esp. during that night, really really. :D Hahahah we shld totally do that again next year! :D Loveeee you, (:
Pictures of the trip are up on facebook! :D
Trainings this week have been awesooomeeeeee! :D Had friendly with Chung Cheng High and Queenstown this week, won all eight matches played with the two schools, happpyyyyy! :D I finally see the team improving, and helping each other along at the same time. It's like one of those times you know you've won and you're happy cause you won based on the team's effort, not just cause the other school made a lot of mistakes and blah. :D And our morale was really good this week also, which is totally awesome cause high morale = good skills = on form = higher chance of winning. :D I can see myself improving also, both spiking and service. :D I'm glad I finally feel like I'm capable of supporting the team, and helping the team as we go along. (: Yups, love the teammmm! :D
Get well soon Joyce! :D
